Root Canal Treatment (RCT) or Endodontic Treatment
Many patients are highly anxious about RCT with particular concern regarding discomfort or pain during treatment. Modern local anaesthetic techniques mean that this is really no longer an issue, it is our priority that you are as comfortable as possible whenever we treat you.
RCT is a highly technical type of dental intervention that involves the use of specialised instruments and processes to achieve a positive outcome; alleviating pain and retaining a tooth.
If you were experiencing pain from the tooth before RCT you may have some discomfort for a period of time after treatment, in most cases this settles down after a few days. Occasionally an awareness of a root filled tooth may last for a few months, this is very much the exception.
